Wigan Athletic begin their assault on the Carling Cup this evening with a second round tie against League 2 side Notts. County at the JJB Stadium.
Latics were beaten finalists in the competition in their first season in the Premier League and fans would love nothing more than a trip to the new Wembley Stadium in February to see if Steve Bruce can take the club one step further.
Henri Camara, Paul Scharner and goalkeeper Mike Pollitt are the only members of the current squad who featured in that final in Cardiff, although for Pollitt it was a day to forget as he was forced off with injury after just 13 minutes.
But with Chris Kirkland missing the Chelsea game with injury, Pollitt may be called into action again - but the Bolton shotstopper is unsure if the manager will make wholesale changes.

"I don't know what the manager's got in mind," he said."It's less than 48 hours after the Chelsea game and there are a lot of tired legs in there.
"We've got quite a few players in the squad now so it maybe that we can make one or two changes, but we'll dust ourselves down and come in tomorrow and see what the managers thoughts are on Tuesday."
The game will give Latics the opportunity to boost confidence levels after two Premier League games that, despite good performances, failed to produce any points.
"We're playing a League two side, but we've got to give them respect.
"They'll come here with nothing to lose and it's a potential banana skin for us so we've got to take the game to them and play like we played against Chelsea.
"We'll give them the respect they deserve but It would be nice to get a win and hopefully get a few goals as well.
"A few years ago we got to the final and we all remember what a great day that was, so hopefully we can progress in the competition."
Please note that the South Stand will be closed for this game.
