Whelan - You earn them, you fight for them

Whelan spoke to Latics World today about Wigan's current progress this season.
"Well west ham we battered them" as for Chelsea he said "I think Chelsea were fantastic against Portsmouth and for us to push them to the limit like we did I think that says a lot for Wigan athletic." but "we've played very well over two games but we've got no points and its points that count so we've got Hull away, Sunderland at home we've got to put points on the board now!"
"we've got a good team, the midfield I think are especially good, the striker, the new lad, Zaki, awesome player he's going to be this boy."
Then he going on to speak about Wilson Palacios "Wilson is outstanding and when he gets on the ball it's wonderful to see him surge down the middle but this lad he's had about 6 chances. How do you get chances? You earn them, you fight for them and this lad runs till he drops he's going to get a lot of goals this season."
He also spoke about the double goal scorer of the Notts County game, Camara. "he's a very very talented player is Camara and he just seems to lack a little bit of confidences at times" "that lad can score a lot of goals as well and I think we are going to see some special goals from him this season"
Speaking about the club, "we're a very very solid, happy club and that's a great thing"
Where are we going to finish this season? Well Whelan thinks "we are good enough to finish in the top half" and "if we were to finish in the top half, I think Wigan Athletic and the fans would be absolutely delighted." also he believes "we are actually good enough to finish in the top 8 or 9."
