Paul Scharner (ankle) is also a doubt but Ryan Taylor is in contention for his first appearance of the season.
Notts County midfielder Adam Nowland is set to miss out a hamstring injury.
But Jay Smith, Neil Mackenzie, Spencer Weir-Daley and Ben Fairclough could be recalled, while keeper Russell Hoult is also pushing for a start.
